MariazellOur local post is located in the northernmost municipality on the southern border with Styria, in the municipality of Mitterbach am Erlaufsee.
Our operational area is located in the municipality of Mitterbach am Erlaufsee on the Styrian border with Mariazell. Along this border also runs the operational border to the neighboring location Mariazellerland.
Starting from Zellerrain, through the middle of the Erlaufsee and along the Erlauf river, our area begins. It continues in the direction of the Gemeindealpe, a summer and winter excursion destination for young and old and a local mountain for us Mitterbacher. Further on the border is at the Bichleralpe, the Josefsberg in the direction of the Ötschergräben.
Again along the Erlauf in the direction of vordere Tormäuer is the border to the local Annaberg. The mighty Rauhe Kamm forms the border to the Lackenhof local office, which goes over the Ötscher, the Türndlmäuer, the Eisernen Herrgott back at the Zellerrain.
The cell phone is an important tool for alerting the mountain rescue service in an emergency. In Austria, you dial the alpine emergency number 140 (only in Vorarlberg, the general rescue emergency number 144 applies).
The alarm can also be raised by dialing the European emergency number 112.
If the cell phone has no reception, you can turn it off and turn it up again and then enter the number 112 instead of the PIN.
