Eröffnungskonzert der Oper Graz - Träume!
Concert with the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra and soloists from Graz Opera!
Insatiable desire! - The relationship between Octavian and the Marschallin in Richard Strauss' Rosenkavalier remains unfulfilled, as does that between Richard Wagner and Mathilde Wesendonck. This insatiable desire inspired Wagner to write Tristan and Isolde, and his Wesendonck songs anticipate motifs from the opera. Exceptional singer Annette Dasch, who has also been celebrated by Wagner lovers since her Bayreuth debut as Elsa, interprets the songs orchestrated for large orchestra by Wagner's adept Felix Mottl. In the second part of the concert, Schubert's B minor Symphony is sure to leave the audience feeling fulfilled despite - or perhaps because of - its incompleteness.
