In 2020, the Greith Haus organised the artist's first solo exhibition during the pandemic. Now, four years later, we are presenting current works by Adel Dauood and documenting the development of recent years.
Adel Dauood was born in 1980 in Al-Hasakah, Syria. From 1998 to 2011, he studied at the Centre of Fine Arts in Al-Hasakah and at the Institute of Fine Arts at the University of Damascus. In 2012, Adel Dauood fled from Syria to Vienna, where he now lives and works as an artist. In 2014, he was selected from 756 applicants by the ESSL Museum to present his artistic work as part of the exhibition ‘the future of painting’. This was followed by further exhibitions in galleries in Europe and the Arab world. His most recent exhibitions have taken him to London (British Museum), Berlin and New York (George Bergès Galleries) and Hamburg (Art Fair Hamburg).
