ORF Lange Nacht der Museen

For all those interested in culture, the doors of the Wine Museum Kitzeck are open again this year.

The 1st Styrian Wine Museum is located in a winegrower's house from the early 18th century, which was extended in 1910. The listed wine museum was opened in 1979. It is located in Kitzeck im Sausal, the highest wine village in Europe, and is therefore also the highest wine museum in Europe. The village, the center of the Sausal, is embedded in the charming hilly landscape of the South Styrian wine country.

The 1st Styrian Wine Museum is stylishly housed in the rooms of an old farmhouse and exhibits rural household items and the development of the wine cellar industry using display boards and the corresponding tools.

With over a thousand artifacts and amusing stories about Styrian viticulture and its winegrowers, every tour is entertaining and allows you to immerse yourself in a time not so long ago.

GUIDED TOURS THROUGH THE WINE MUSEUM (FROM 18.00 TO 24.00)
EXPERIMENTS & CRAFT STATION FOR THE LITTLE ONES (FROM 6 P.M. TO MIDNIGHT)

Stamping with corks, music with wine glasses and experiments with dancing raisins, a genie and “What floats - what doesn't float?”.
